Background 

Dr. Nomeli's industrial research experience include applied mathematics for multi-physics modeling, statistics/machine learning-assisted modeling, super performance computing, and data-driven modeling, with application to engineering reactive transport in oil and gas reservoirs.

Industrial Work Experience
  • Developed an object-oriented software, which extracts, transfers, and loads data for the purpose of modeling and simulations with Machine Learning techniques using Python
  • Implemented Computational Fluid Dynamics methodologies in the development of reactive flow transport through the software lifecycle, from required algorithms through successful deployment
  • Reviewed, managed, and evaluated dynamic data in the areas of well performance, production analysis, material balance, production forecasting, decline curve analysis, monitoring of reservoirs, uncertainty analysis, numerical simulation, in order to diagnose and improve production operations and well productivity
  • Developed an algorithm that manipulates and predicts compositional changes using Machine Learning methodologies: The Black Oil Model and the Equation of Estate Model (EoS)
Data Science and Machine Learning
  • Design, implement, test and sustain automated data analysis and classification systems using big data analysis and machine learning techniques
  • Use machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve performance, quality, data management and accuracy
  • Develop diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights/algorithms to tackle complex problems
  • Work on a variety of problems in natural language processing, unsupervised and supervised learning
  • Build super performance, lightweight applications and services for handling high volume real-time data streams
