Associate Research Professor and Associate Director of the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering Yunho Hwang was selected to receive the Exceptional Service Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers.  Hwang will receive the award from ASHRAE on June 22 at the society’s annual conference in Denver.

The award honors ASHRAE members who have provided exemplary service to the society. Hwang has not only shared his research in conferences that ASHRAE has hosted or co-hosted, he has also contributed to the society by serving on technical committees as a chair, voting member, or corresponding member. In addition, he has helped ASHRAE sponsor research projects, presented programs at ASHRAE meetings, reviewed technical papers, and evaluated the need for standards.

“Winning an award makes me become more aware of the meaning of social service and responsibility we all have to contribute,” Hwang said.
