ASHRAE Bestows Exceptional Service Award to Radermacher
Professor of Mechanical Engineering Reinhard Radermacher was awarded the Exceptional Service Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) at the Society’s 2005 Annual Meeting this June in Denver, Colorado.
The award recognizes ASHRAE members who have served the Society faithfully and with exemplary effort, far in excess of that required for their Distinguished Service Award, which was granted to Professor Michael Ohadi in 2003.
Professor Radermacher is the Director of the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (CEEE), is an internationally recognized expert in energy conversion systems; in particular integrated Cooling, Heating and Power (CHP) Systems, heat pumps, air-conditioners and refrigeration systems. His work has resulted in over 100 publications, including 3 books he co-authored, numerous invention records and 9 patents. He was a visiting scientist and NATO scholar at the National Institute of Standards and Technology before joining the University of Maryland.
