Cremaschi Appointed Auburn's Director of Undergraduate Research

Mechanical engineering alumnus Lorenzo Cremaschi (Ph.D. '04) has recently been named Auburn University’s director of undergraduate research.

A mechanical engineering professor at Auburn since 2016, Cremaschi has mentored more than 20 undergraduate students in their research and serves as the faculty advisor of Auburn’s student branch of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

His own research includes work in thermodynamics, renewable energy systems, water purification and refrigeration. While a doctoral student at the University of Maryland, Cremaschi's advisor was Dr. Reinhard Radermacher.

In his new role, Cremaschi offers guidance and leadership to the Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program, the Auburn University Journal of Undergradate Studies, and the annual student research symposium.

In an Auburn University news article, he explains, “I am excited to work with and learn from all [the students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters] and help grow our impact and create more opportunities for Auburn University undergraduate research to impact the world.”

Congratulations, Dr. Cremaschi!
