First of 28 Chinese Engineers Receive Training with CEEEThe first seven from a group of 28 engineers from the Chinese Refrigerator Industry have arrived to work with Professor Reinhard Radermacher and the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (CEEE). They will work with Dr. Radermacher and CEEE for 12 weeks.
These seven engineers will receive training in designing energy efficient refrigerators. The process includes building prototype units with existing cabinets and conducting extensive tests and optimization of the cabinet and refrigeration unit for energy efficiency and overall system performance. The CEEE program will lead to the creation of a core set of refrigerator design professionals with the ability to perform the required tasks to support transformation of the Chinese industry to the production of highly efficient models.
The goal of this program is to provide the Chinese engineers skills in the setup and planning of experiments, the conduction of tests, interpretation of the results and comparison with computer simulation output. These skills will be deepened while working on the redesign of an individual refrigerator.
